A Commis Chef is an entry-level position in a professional kitchen, responsible for assisting with food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations.

Culinary Education: Completion of culinary coursework from a recognized culinary school or institution is advantageous but not always required. Alternatively, on-the-job training or apprenticeship programs may be available.
Experience: Entry-level position suitable for individuals with limited professional kitchen experience. Previous experience in food service, such as kitchen assistant, prep cook, or line cook, may be beneficial.
Basic Cooking Skills: Basic understanding of cooking techniques and kitchen operations. Familiarity with kitchen equipment, utensils, and safety procedures.
Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail in food preparation, presentation, and cleanliness. Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately to ensure consistency in product quality.
Teamwork: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a kitchen team. Willingness to take direction from senior chefs and collaborate with colleagues to achieve common goals.
